Confirming the firmware version:
- Turn on the Nikon D200
- Press the MENU button and select Firmware Version from the setup menu.The camera’s firmware version will be displayed.
- Turn off the Nikon D200
Basic Download and Nikon D200 Installation instructions for Windows and Macintosh:
- Download and expand the firmware files to produce the D200Update folder.
- Open the folder to view the 2 .bin files, A and B. These will need to be updated one at a time.
- Format an approved CF card in the camera (do not use a Microdrive card to perform this update).
- Connect Camera to computer (in MSC USB mode) or use a CF Card Reader (do not use a Lexar Jump Shot USB cable to perform this update).
- Copy to the top level of the card* the downloaded “A firmware” file (only).
- Disconnect camera from computer.
- Update the firmware from the “Setup” menu.
- Follow the camera’s on-screen menus.Format the memory card in the camera.
- Repeat steps 2 through 7 using the “B Firmware” (only).
- Re-format Card.(*- the “top level of the card” just means do not copy the file into a folder on the memory card, just copy onto the card itself.)
Modifications/Note for Nikon DSLR D200 Firmware Version A/B 2.01:
- An issue that, in some rare situations, caused the battery indicator to blink with shooting, regardless of actual battery charge status, has been resolved.
