Description:This service provides software for updating UT-1 firmware to Ver. 2.3.If the firmware installed on your product is already the version noted above, this update is not necessary.Connect the UT-1 to a camera to update UT-1 firmware. See Cameras that can be used to update UT-1 firmware for information on supported cameras.When using the UT-1 running firmware Ver. 2.3, be sure that the Wireless Transmitter Utility is Ver. 1.5.4 or later.
Confirming the firmware version:
- Connect the UT-1 to the camera via USB cable, and turn on the camera and the UT-1.
- Press the camera’s MENU button and select Network > Options > Firmware version from the setup menu (D800/D800E: setup menu > Network (UT-1) > Options > Firmware version).
- The UT-1’s firmware version will be displayed.
- Turn off the camera and UT-1.
Basic Download and Nikon UT-1 Installation instructions for Windows and Macintosh:
- Windows:Create a new folder with an appropriate name on your computer’s hard disk.
- Download F-UT1-V23_W.exe to the folder created in step 1.
- Run F-UT1-V23_W.exe to create the folder titled UT1Update, containing the following file: • _UT1_23_.bin: the firmware
- Format a memory card with the camera and use a card reader or similar device to copy _UT1_23_.bin to the memory card.
- Macintosh:Download F-UT1-V23_M.dmg.
- Double-click the F-UT1-V23_M.dmg icon to mount the disk image titled, F-UT1-V23_M. A folder titled UT1Update, containing the following file, will be created inside the disk image:
• _UT1_23_.bin: the firmware - Format a memory card with the camera and use a card reader or similar device to copy _UT1_23_.bin to the memory card.
- Insert the memory card containing the firmware in the camera.
- When updating firmware with a camera that does not support switching between the primary and secondary slots, insert the memory card in the camera’s memory card slot 1.
- When updating firmware with a camera that supports switching between the primary and secondary slots, insert the memory card in the camera’s primary memory card slot.
- Connect the UT-1 to the camera via USB cable, and turn on the camera and the UT-1.
- Press the camera’s MENU button and select Network > Options > Firmware version from the setup menu (D800/D800E: setup menu > Network (UT-1) > Options > Firmware version).
- Follow the instructions displayed to update the firmware.
- After the update is complete, turn off the camera and UT-1, and remove the memory card.
- Confirm that the firmware has been properly updated.

Supported Cameras:
- D4S, D4, D810, D800*, D800E*, D750, D7200, D7100, and D7000. However, UT-1 firmware can only be updated using the following cameras.
- D810, D800*, D800E*, D750, D7200, and D7100
- * D800 and D800E cameras running A and B firmware Ver. 1.10 or later are supported.
Modifications/Note for Nikon UT-1 Firmware Version 2.3:
